“For the Scripture of God is the heavenly meat of our souls; the hearing and keeping of it maketh us blessed, sanctifieth us and maketh us holy.”
“Ideas have power only when we believe them. We hear all sorts of ideas every day, some brilliant, others ridiculous; but they have zero effect on us unless we begin to trust them as an accurate map to reality.”
“It gave me a new thrill to realize that I am commissioned as an ambassador for the King of kings - a new seriousness of purpose…for after all, we do not have tomorrow in which to serve Him - only today! As a young person, it is often hard to keep from living in the future, with the idea in mind that things haven’t really started yet - we still have a lifetime ahead. Perhaps - but the Lord gives us a moment at a time, and trusts us to invest it for eternity.”

“Forget for a moment that you have ever read Isaiah before. Forget for a moment whatever you have been taught by critics that Isaiah never wrote all of Isaiah and that this couldn’t have been 700 years before Christ. Forget that which men have said as they have taken the scissors of their unbelieving minds and have slashed out the supernatural parts of the Bible, letting them fall to the floor or in the fireplace, leaving a shorn bit of lacy scrap to piece together in the bizarre combinations their own minds imagine to make more sense. Forget that anyone has told you that the Bible is myth and fable and that therefore you can’t intelligently be excited about it, and come to this passage with an open mind, letting it be understood easily because of what it says, instead of allowing it to become complicated by what people say it can’t say.”
