The book of Malachi is one of those short books in the OT that is packed with applicable and needed content for today. Along with other minor prophets, its not as widely read and understood as it should be and Ross gives us a great commentary for Malachi.
This volume seeks to accomplish both exegesis and exposition as it walks through the book of Malachi. The exegesis is very helpful as it lays out the context and composition of each passage, exegetical comments and outlines, and an expository commentary with extra focus on key words in the book. Its very handy if you are in the practice of exegesis and learning how to navigate passages thoroughly and confidently.
A few of the topics in the book, such as marriage, money, God’s love, and worship, are applied to today’s world, showing how these same truths, though written to a different audience in a different context, still easily apply to our daily lives as believers seeking to live faithfully in the face of temptation.
This will definitely be by go-to commentary for Malachi!
